MESSAGE from THE MAYOR

February 27, 2006

I am happy to report the town has been successful in securing a grant for a streetscape project on Main Street.  This project will replace our sidewalks, complete the installation of our new street lamps and add new curb appeal.  The removal of the remaining cable and electric lines with the associated wooden poles is also included in the project.  When work is complete it will be a great step forward toward our goal of revitalizing the downtown business district.

We have applied to the Federal government through Rep. Aderholt's office for monies to complete the library project.  If successful, we will be able to move into the renovated G.W. Roberts building and get away from the site we are currently using.
