Collinsville is proud to be a member of the Dekalb-Cherokee Gas District. DeKalb-Cherokee Counties Gas District was formed in 1953 by the cities of Fort Payne, Collinsville and Centre, Alabama. With a vision of the future and commitment to the community, civic leaders built a natural gas system when investor-owned utilities in Alabama did not consider building in these rural communities profitable. The district, located in Northeast Alabama, is governed by a nine-member board of directors appointed from the member cities and continues to provide a vital service to the community through innovation and commitment. |
