Collinsville Historic Association, Inc.

Preserving our heritage in architecture and tradition for future generations.

Incorporated in June of 2003, Collinsville Historic Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase and disseminate ahistorical knowledge of Collinsville, to preserve the Town's cultural heritage, and to cooperate with local government to promote historic preservation.

The Historic Association includes members of a very diverse background who are committed to the preservation of a most valuable resource - our heritage!

The Association proudly endorses the designation of historic districts in the downtown and South Valley Avenue areas.

One current project of the Historic Association is restoration of the Collinsville "Town Clock" which has long been a symbol and trademark of Collinsville ~ the fate of the Seth Thomas clock that once sat atop the Cricket Theatre, is no longer in jeopardy.  In cooperation with the Town, CHA was instrumental in finding  help in the form of a qualified restorer of classic time pieces.  The clock has recently undergone a total restoration to its original condition and is currently on display at the Town Hall.

The Association is in the process of completing:
  • A quarterly newsletter containing historical information about Collinsville and updates of current projects and town events ~ You may contribute information to the newsletter by mailing to Martha Barksdale, P.O. Box 335, Collinsville, AL 35961; by calling 256-524-2871; or, by email.
